Chesapeake Bay Retriever

Chesapeake Bay Retriever dogs are known for their gentle, loving nature. They are devoted to their families and make great companions for children, especially if they have been raised with them from puppyhood. These dogs are also known for being very protective of their owners and their territory.

Chesapeake Bay Retrievers were bred to hunt waterfowl in the Chesapeake Bay region of Virginia, Maryland, and Delaware. They are used primarily as hunting dogs today, but they also excel at agility competitions and other dog sports such as obedience trials and flyball races.
